This past spring I directed my first video, a clip for 'Priscilla' - a song that can be found on my split with U.S. Girls. I had help from Zonial Pictures, the brains behind this thing.
"Priscilla" is the first music video directed by Slim Twig. It was produced by Jennifer Hazel, and shot by Ross Turnbull. The song is taken from a split 12" with U.S. Girls on the Palmist record label.
The video was conceived as a long form expanding portrait (not unlike a lo-fi version of Kanye West's "Power" clip). It is somewhat of a reaction to the barrage of rapid fire NSFW videos that have come to dominate as of late, in that it is an elegant take on a very simple idea. A foggy mystery of a tableau, a broke-baroque moving painting.
